Specimen Requirements
Nasal swab samples collected with dual swabs and transported in LQ Stuart or LQ Aimes transport media. Acceptable collection/transport devices include the following:
- BBL swabs with LQ Stuart or LQ Aimes transport media
- Copan swabs with LQ Stuart or LQ Aimes transport media
Note: Single swabs in appropriate transport media are acceptable but not preferred. If a single swab is submitted and the test fails or additional testing is needed, the specimen will need to be recollected and resubmitted.
Rejection Criteria:
Specimens collected in swabs with gel transport media are not acceptable for testing.

Specimen Transport and Stability Information
Specimen Storage and Stability:
Store specimen at room temperature (15 – 28 °C) if it will be processed within 24 hours, otherwise store at 2 – 8 °C. The swab specimen is stable for up to 5 days when stored at 2 – 8 °C
