Specimen Requirements
Submit only 1 of the following specimens:
Gastric Aspirate: Aspirate trap or sterile
screw capped container. If a specimen is submitted in an aspirate
trap, attach the tubing firmly to the top of the apirate trap to
ensure specimen does not leak during transport
Specimen volume: 0.5 ml
Note: Specimen must contain visible red blood
cells.
Stool: Sterile screw capped container
Specimen Volume: 0.5 ml
Note: Specimen must contain visible red blood
cells.
Vomitus: Sterile, screw capped container
Specimen Volume: 0.5 ml
Note: Specimen must contain visible red blood
cells.
