Specimen Requirements

LT Green/Mint Top (NAHEP) Minimum Draw Volume: 2mL Inpatient Collections: Place tube on ice and transport to the lab immediately. Must be tested within 15 minutes of collection. Outpatient Collections: Centrifuge specimen and remove plasma from the cells within 15 minutes of collection and place on ice.

Collection Instructions

Processing: Place plasma on ice and in the refrigerator. Specimen is stable for 3 hours when refrigerated. Test not allowed as add on.

Specimen Transport Temperature and Stability Information

Specimen cannot be transported through the pneumatic tube system, must be walked to the lab.
